Graveyard Keeper 2 Morgue & Alchemy Layout

In the morgue, “quality” means how many bodies it can hold. Place tables and pallets and the body capacity updates.

Body capacity

The morgue’s number is its body capacity. Each Autopsy Table adds +1, a Corpse Pallet I +1, a Corpse Pallet II +2, and Crematorium I +1. The crematorium goes on its own fixed spot. The morgue starts with one Autopsy Table I already in place.

No rotting bodies in GK2

Older guides warn about bodies rotting and dragging morgue quality down. That was Graveyard Keeper 1. In GK2 we found no rot or decay penalty: bodies on pallets and tables don’t rot, so you can stack them up while you work through autopsies.

Alchemy

The buildable alchemy station is Laboratory I (Alchemy, Basic tech; hammer at Building 2). The game files also contain an Alchemy Workbench and Alchemy Tools, but they can’t be unlocked yet, so they aren’t in the planner.

Recipes, tech costs, power, quality values and spot counts come from the graveyardkeeper2.io datamine (game build of September 2026), cross-checked against other guides where we could. The game doesn't publish building footprints or room sizes, so tile sizes and positions on the grid are a schematic. A patch can change any of this, so check the in-game build menu before you spend rare materials.

FAQ

Do bodies rot in the Graveyard Keeper 2 morgue?

We found no rot or decay penalty in the GK2 data. Bodies on pallets or tables keep. Corpse decay was a Graveyard Keeper 1 mechanic.

How do I raise morgue capacity?

Add Corpse Pallets (II holds 2 bodies), a second Autopsy Table and the Crematorium on its fixed spot. Each adds to the morgue’s body capacity.
